This outdoor event offers a naturally beautiful green space right on the boardwalk, perfect for showcasing your talent. Whether you're an independent vocal or dance artist, or a fine art vendor, this is your chance to shine!

For just $150, you'll receive a 10x10 space for two days, with the option to have a pop-up tent installed for an additional $50. Plus, enjoy lunch each day courtesy of Large Brothers Catering and a 1/2 page feature in the Africana Souvenir Magazine. What is Africana?

It is an arts and music festival. Originally launched in 2013, with the Funkfest Beachparty, held in August, the event is relaunching (Post COVID) as Africana Arts & Music Festival. The name evolution is to emphasize a greater focus on the visual and performing fine arts of the African Diaspora. The hiatus because of COVID, has given the organizers the opportunity to build a new team and position the festival as the premier representation of African American culture at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

When and where is the event?

The festival is October 4-6, 2024. Most events will be at 17th Street park at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. 1701 Atlantic Avenue, next to Dairy Queen. Full schedule will be available here soon.
